The South Florida State College (SFSC) Chapter of the Association of Florida Colleges (AFC) won the Gold Chapter of the Year Award for 2024.
The SFSC Chapter of AFC submitted a record of all of its activities and actions from July 2023 through November 2024 to the state office. The Chapter of the Year Awards recognize the outstanding work of the Florida College System member chapters. A range of points is established by the Awards Committee for the awarding of Platinum Chapter, Gold Chapter, and Silver Chapter distinctions.
On Tuesday, Feb. 4, Jamie Bateman, vice president for institutional advancement and legislative chair for the Chapter; President Fred Hawkins; and Board Chair Terry Atchley accepted the award from Tony Carvajal, executive director for the AFC.
